Mr. Blythe is a Chartered Professional Accountant and a Certified General Accountant (Canada) as well as a successful candidate of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA-USA). With over 30 years work and business experiences he leads a private accounting and tax practice serving numerous corporate, small business and not-for-profit clients across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Service, Integrity and Excellence are the three cornerstones of his practice.
Mr. Blythe’s extensive business accomplishments include establishing several successful “Start-up” enterprises, development of corporate business strategies, financial policies and procedures and management of all aspects of corporate financial reporting and auditing. In 2010 he successfully prepared and filed the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) radio station application, which led to the establishment of Canada’s only Black radio station in Toronto. The same year, along with two other partners, he started a successful restaurant venture. A strong advocate of financial and tax planning, he has written extensively and has hosted seminars on tax and financial planning across the GTA.
In addition to ongoing professional development in his field he volunteers as Treasurer for several Toronto Registered charities. A former President of the Guild of Undergraduates (UWI) and Member of the University of the West Indies Board of Governors, Mr. Blythe has held numerous leadership roles over his career. He is currently Treasurer of the Lifelong Leadership Institute, an organization dedicated to “Inspiring Leadership, Developing Leaders” among the Black youths of the GTA.
In 2011 Mr. Blythe launched the very successful Mothers of Distinction Awards held in Toronto with special guest speaker LeeAnn Theiman and Honoree Mrs. Jennifer Bolt. The awards “recognize the important contribution mothers make to the development of Society and the unity of our Global village”. Mr. Blythe continues to volunteer as a youth mentor in the Greater Toronto Area’s communities.
